Sign the JREC Petition!

As residents of the JREC neighborhood, as current and former members of the Hunter College community, and as concerned community members, we urgently petition our public officials to protect the Julia Richman Education Complex (JREC) from a takeover by Hunter College. Hunter’s proposal would result in the destruction of this outstanding educational community, the construction of a high-rise building on its site, and the dislocation of JREC’s six successful schools. This proposal is wrong for the nearly 1,900 young children, students with autism, and teenagers served by JREC, and it is wrong for the neighborhood, the city, and taxpayers.
